A fresh look for the Investment Proposal
We're excited to bring you an updated version of the Investment Proposal, complete with an Investment Policy Statement (IPS)! See a sample proposal here!
When you arrive at the proposal step in Advisor Portal, you will have access to three templates, each created for specific use cases.
Which template should you use?
Template #1 - "Investment Proposal Template"
This template is the full version of the template and is our default. It will pull in the account information from the Account Comparison Tool (we'll post more on that shortly!) as well as the answers from the built-in risk-tolerance questionnaire.
Template #2 - "Investment Proposal Template NO Compare"
You can use this template if you did not enter account information into the Account Comparison Tool.
Template #3 - "Investment Proposal Template - Manual Score"
You can use this template if you entered a manual risk score and did not use the built in risk-tolerance questionnaire.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can the investment proposal be added to the Docusign packet?
This feature is not available at this time. We know this is important to you and we'll continue looking into ways the proposal could be integrated into the signing process.
Shouldn't my fees be listed in the proposal?
Due to the different fee structures we make available to each firm, we're unable to show both your fees and our fees together in the proposal. Places fees are disclosed to clients already are: in your firm's client agreement, in your firm's ADV brochure, and in the client authorization we send with each client's new account packet. We understand you would like to show fees in the investment proposal and we'll continue exploring how this can be accommodated.
Does XYPN Invest keep record of the investment proposals?
The investment proposal is a resource available to you and you're welcome to incorporate it into your firm however you would like to! XYPN Invest does not review or keep copies of the investment proposal, so make sure you have them stored somewhere in your files!
What about the historical performance data?
We've found that Orion's fact sheets do not consistently pull historical data, especially for models that use newer funds (Like DFA ETFs!). If you want to review performance data for any of our allocations, we recommend using our Model Due Diligence Kit instead.
